“In the early summer of 1946, I was having a quiet pint in ”Ye Olde Cellars”, Tenterden in company with other members of the British legion. We were discussing the forthcoming Legions Gala to be held on August Bank Holiday Monday and one of the members suggested we hold a Motor Cycle Grass-track on the Recreation Ground. He knew I’d done a bit of motorcycling in my time and suggested that I organise the event. I explained that Grass-tracking was strictly controlled by the ACU which meant that it must be run by a duly authorised club.  “Why not form one?” he said and I had the job wished on to me. Fortunately I was on friendly terms with most of the ACU bigwigs and the preliminaries went through smoothly, including a permit for the Grass track meeting. So was formed the “Tenterden and District Motorcycle and Light Car Club”

Welcome to the new look Tenterden and District Motorcycle club website. This site provides the latest news, results and gossip from the Tenterden motorcycle world, plus an insight into the clubs heritage and future calendar.

During 2006 the club celebrated its 60th anniversary, the club is a fairly small and sociable East Kent trials club, with a proud history of organising, and participating in motorcycle events, dating back from the days of our founder father Karl Pugh. We run regular club and regional trials and social events throughout the year, from a new years day fancy dress trial, to an annual club bash in late November.

Our members are active participants in national and international trials, enduros, grasstrack, classic road racing and even speedway. We are members of the South Eastern Centre ACU, and have members aged between 7 and 80 years of age. We are always pleased to welcome new members.

We have a monthly newsletter, monthly club and committee night and even occasional away trials travels and pleasingly now a new look club website to ensure the future of trials in East Kent for the next 60 years.
